It began with Scott and Janet, who ran a small café and wine bar called Red Ginger and were known for their sandwiches and smoothies.
When they were ready to move on to a new chapter, a connection through the community led them to Mark Nakagawa — a kitchen-passionate local who had been quietly dreaming about the breakfast business for a while.
Scott found the spot. They built the menu. And in 2014, My Cafe opened its doors for the very first time.
When Scott and Janet moved on to other opportunities in 2018, Mark and his wife stepped up to take over — and their ownership transformed the café from a beloved local spot into a genuine Kapolei institution. 🙌
