In 1989, the LaCorte family moved from New Jersey to Northern Kentucky and opened a pizzeria called Vianna Pizza in Burlington.
Young Jessica, now Jessica Fette, spent her childhood soaking up the restaurant lifestyle, and she never shook the dream of opening her own place someday.
Fast forward, and that little girl grew up to become the mayor of Erlanger, which makes her arguably the only breakfast owner in town who can also cut ribbons. 🎀
She found her dream building at 480 Erlanger Road, a house built in 1876 that sat vacant for eight years before she rolled up her sleeves.
The Hive opened in April 2022, and the growth, in her own words, has been “insane.”
Fette says the menu comes from family recipes, her grandma’s cooking with her dad’s own twist, and her father, Vito LaCorte, develops the menu and runs the back of the house after retiring from decades in the pizza business. 👨🍳
Then there is the name, which is a wink at Fette’s favorite band, 311, whose recording studio is also called The Hive. 🎸
