How Bridge View Tavern Won Sleepy Hollow’s Hearts
Stephen and Patricia Maceyak have owned the building at the western end of Beekman Avenue for more than 35 years — a long tenure that speaks to a level of community commitment you simply don’t find in corporate dining.
Originally known as the Bridge View Inn, it served as a beloved lunch and after-work gathering place for workers from the nearby General Motors plant — a neighborhood anchor that fed and watered generations of Sleepy Hollow families before the plant shuttered in 1996.
In 2009, Stephen and Patricia undertook full renovations and reopened it as Bridge View Tavern — this time with their children Chris and Tara stepping in as general managers, making it a full, proud family operation that carries Dad’s vision forward into a new generation.
Steve Maceyak had been in the restaurant business for over 20 years — a self-made restaurateur who poured his love of cooking, eating, and genuine hospitality into everything Bridge View Tavern became.
From house-smoked BBQ meats to exotic game burgers featuring elk, bison, and wild boar chorizo, Bridge View carved out a distinct identity in the Sleepy Hollow dining scene — one that immediately rewarded curious diners who expected a bar menu and got something far more exciting.
With 12 dedicated rotating craft draft lines featuring rare selections from beloved breweries, Bridge View became a Westchester craft beer destination in its own right — drawing visitors from across the Hudson Valley who couldn’t find these pours anywhere else nearby. 🍻

Sitting down to dinner with a panoramic sightline of the Hudson River, the Tappan Zee Bridge, and the Palisade Mountain Range — while a stone fireplace crackles nearby — is an experience that turns first-time visitors into permanent regulars before the appetizers even arrive. 🏔️🌊
The Hudson Valley tavern has become a true community institution — a place where anniversaries are celebrated, after-game crowds unwind, and out-of-town guests are brought as a point of local pride.
And after more than three decades on that same corner, the Maceyak family has earned every single one of those loyal regulars. 🏆
