This park is the go-to spot for a panoramic vista that includes the Pacific Ocean, San Diego Bay, and the mountains to the east. The views are definitely the real winner and you do get some exercise on the way.

For a more tranquil outdoor experience, head to Discovery Lake. This small lake is surrounded by a scenic walking trail. It offers views of the surrounding hills and wildlife such as ducks, geese, and turtles. It’s great for bird watching and families.
The trail is an easy walk, making it suitable for families with children or those who prefer a more leisurely pace. If you want to be more active, there is also an advanced trail that leads to a hill. This trail is better for more experienced hikers. Fishing is also allowed in the lake with a valid California fishing license.
