Packing like a Pro: The Definitive Travel Guide

Packing can be a stressful task for many travelers. Not to mention how much time and effort it takes to pack for every trip! However, there are some easy packing tips you can follow that will save you time and stress while still giving your clothes the attention they need.

This blog post will teach you how to pack like a professional so that the next time you travel, all of your clothes come home with you instead of waiting at an airport lost-and-found.

Have a good luggage set

The first thing you need to do is buy yourself a good luggage set. An overnight bag and carry-on are all you really need for most trips, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry!

A good luggage set is essential for how to pack like a professional. Make sure you buy the right type of luggage for your needs and make it durable enough to last through most trips with ease!

Some luggage is versatile and can be adjusted depending on whether you’re taking a short or long trip. A good suitcase set should also have a few compartments and pockets for easier organization.

When choosing a carry-on bag for your travels, consider the size restrictions imposed by airlines. A popular and practical option is a large cabin bag with dimensions of 56x45x25 centimeters (22x18x10 inches), as this size is generally accepted by most airlines as a standard carry-on size. It provides ample space for your essentials while fitting in the overhead compartments easily. A large cabin bag 56x45x25 allows you to pack efficiently without having to check in your luggage, saving you time and potential baggage fees. It’s especially useful for short trips or weekend getaways when you don’t need to bring an excessive amount of belongings.

What to bring and what to leave out

For a short weekend getaway, I’d say around four or five different outfits should be packed. That includes how many days of clothes you need, how long your trip is, and how formal the event/destination will be!

For longer trips, more clothes should be packed but take time to ask yourself how much space each outfit will take up and how often you’ll be doing laundry.

Choosing quality over quantity when packing clothing

When it comes time for what to pack, always choose quality over quantity. Bring clothes that fit well together so they can be mixed and matched for different outfits.

One way to do this is by choosing a color palette that will work well together, such as dark neutrals like black, blue, or grey with pops of bright colors such as red or yellow.

Packing your clothes

There are a number of ways to fold clothes so that they take up less space in your luggage. Box packing is the most popular way and how I do it, but you can also try roll packing or spiral wrapping. You should also bear in mind that different techniques might work for different types of clothing materials.

Roll packing

This may seem like a no-brainer, but many people don’t realize how much space they can save just by rolling their clothes rather than folding them. Rolling bags take up less space in your bag so that means more room for your other stuff too!

Box packing

Box packing is more time-consuming and difficult than rolling, but it also takes up less space in your luggage and allows you to organize everything better for quick access when needed.

Spiral wrapping

Spiral wrapping is best used for longer items such as jeans or skirts. It’s also useful for long-term trips or clothes that don’t need to be folded flat.

Packing your suitcase

Once your clothes are packed in their appropriate spaces, it’s time to move on to how you pack your suitcases. One of the biggest tips for packing your suitcase is by investing in packing cubes.

Invest in packing cubes

Packing cubes are extremely helpful when traveling. These little bags keep everything organized so that you can find whatever it is that you’re looking for with ease! They also make unpacking much simpler because instead of having to rummage through your bag, all you have to do is unzip the packing cube and everything you need is right there!

Packing cubes can be found almost anywhere that sells luggage. They usually come in a set of three or four, depending on how large your bag is. Using packing cubes helps keep all of my clothes organized and stowed away in my luggage. It’s much easier to keep everything in its place when the packing compartments are already laid out for you!

How to pack shoes

Believe it or not, packing shoes can make a huge difference. Packing your shoes improperly is one of the most common travel mistakes – and how long do you think all those unwashed pairs will stay fresh? No matter how frequently you rotate them, eventually, they’re going to start smelling bad!

When packing shoes, the most important thing you need to do is make sure they’re clean. Washing them in your hotel sink will take up less room than packing an entire bag full of sneakers! Another good tip for how to pack shoes is by investing in shoe pouches or cases.

How to store small or fragile items

The best way to store small/fragile items is by packing them in your shoes. Shoes are designed to protect their contents – even when thrown around during travel! That’s why I always place my most delicate possessions into my shoes before zipping up my suitcase. Just make sure your shoes are clean and packed properly too!

The best way to pack is knowing how each type of clothing should be folded or stored. Packing cubes are also a great investment because they keep everything organized and it’s much easier to unpack your suitcase by just unpacking the packing cube!

Don’t let the stress of packing get to you and have a fun time on your travels!
