1897 Poe House
This isn’t the Edgar Allan Poe you know who wrote macabre stories, but a local businessman who was well-known in the area. Better known as E.A. Poe, his house is part of the Cape Fear Historical Society. It has since turned into a museum for visitors to get a glimpse of life in the past.
Tours will tell the history of the house and the area, as well as showcase antiques and memorabilia.
Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum
You’ll find the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum in the 1980 Railroad Depot. The museum hosts a wide range of exhibits that feature artifacts from the past, as well as local history.
