Top Review: “This place gets what Pensacola is all about! Staying true and simple. Can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite is the French dip, but I switch it up sometimes with pizza, calzone, spaghetti… all their salads are great. Definitely get a soup while you’re in there. Only complaint: they use frozen meatballs. You gotta step it up on that, New Yorker! Meatballs are simple to make.”Captin B.

Top Review: “Best pizza on the upper gulf coast and panhandle. I have not found anything this good east of New Orleans or west of Jacksonville. Really good NY-style crispy crust. Good toppings. Available banana peppers which is sometimes oddly hard to find. The staff was nice. The service was prompt. The pizza was huge. I took half home for lunch today. This was a big win. The place was clean inside and your typical pizza-bar surroundings. Nothing fancy but comfortable.”Tad D.

With Angelena’s encouragement, the couple relocated to Pensacola in the early 1880s and became successful local produce merchants. Their produce was used by both families at home and by fine dining establishments in the downtown area. The Giardinas found success in Pensacola as both culinary professionals and real estate entrepreneurs.

Angelena’s Ristorante Italiano offers a variety of delicious pizzas, including the Diavola Salami, which features spicy Calabrian chili and 196 Black Garlic Honey. The Fun Guy pizza is made with local mushrooms, Gorgonzola cheese, and bacon marmalade, while the Prosciutto Di Parma pizza is topped with garlic butter, Parmesan cheese, and arugula. Each pizza is made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection, making Angelena’s Ristorante Italiano a must-visit for pizza lovers in Pensacola.

Top Review: “I went into this one with very high expectations since the chef here won on Chopped – a show that I’m a fan of.  And in spite of setting a high bar for this place, I still came away impressed.  The restaurant has a sort of intimate, cozy vibe to it.  We were there for dinner and the lighting was fairly dark, which I like.  They have a wood fired pizza oven going near the back of the main dining area that was cool to watch.  We actually saw them make the pizza dough for the BBQ shrimp app.  Speaking of the BBQ shrimp app, it was excellent.  I can’t say it’s the best I’ve ever had, but my wife and I agreed it was #2 for sure.  We’re BBQ shrimp snobs so a two is top notch.  As for the grilled swordfish, it was the best I’ve had.  Cooked absolutely perfectly, and the citrus they added on the plating really complimented the fish well.  My wife was impressed with the ravioli, which was sweet potato, local mushrooms, and conecuh sausage.  Overall this place knocked it out of the park in every area that a restaurant can excel in.  I will definitely be back.” Will N.
